Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
FlatFeetRunning (“we”, “us”) publishes independent running-gear guides for flat-footed runners. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit flatfeetrunning.com, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Who we are
FlatFeetRunning is an independent editorial website operated from the Netherlands. You can reach us at arendwier@gmail.com. We act as the data controller for personal data processed through this site.
What we collect
- Usage data — pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (country/city level), device type, and browser, collected through analytics.
- Cookie and identifier data — set by us and by advertising and analytics partners, only where you have consented in regions that require consent.
- Information you send us — the email address and message content if you contact us directly.
We do not ask for or knowingly store health records, payment details, or account passwords. We do not sell personal information.
Advertising and third-party vendors
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Advertising and measurement partners we may work with include Google AdSense/Ad Manager, Microsoft Advertising (Bing), and comparable ad networks. Each partner processes data under its own privacy policy.
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you visit from a region covered by the GDPR or the UK GDPR, non-essential cookies — including advertising and analytics cookies — are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner. Consent signals are passed to our advertising partners using Google Consent Mode. You can change or withdraw consent at any time from the cookie banner link in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of cookie categories.
Your rights
- Access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you.
- Object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
- Request a portable copy of data you provided to us.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): request disclosure of categories collected and opt out of any 'sharing' for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any right, email arendwier@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
Data retention and security
Analytics data is retained in aggregated form for up to 26 months. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. The site is served over HTTPS and access to our systems is restricted to the site operator.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We update this policy when our practices or partners change. Material changes are reflected in the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
